BitBucket GIT Over HTTPS Support

SmartGit mailing list
Hello,
Could you add support for using GIT over HTTPS for BitBucket accounts?

The whole SSH process is frustrating.
It would be much easier just to work using HTTPS.

 Thank You.

Hmm, bitbucket's https address is a little strange.

Github's is:
http://github.com/repoOwner/repoName.git

Bitbucket is:
http://accountname@bitbucket.com/repoOwner/repoName.git

That just baffles me as it ties the the user directly to the repo url. Bad bitbucket, BAD!

About what type of repositories you are talking - Git or Hg?

I have BitBucket Git repositories.

I hate that SmartGit only uses SSH for authentication.
Why can't it be done with HTTPS?

 Thank You.

Hi, I'm using SmartGit 6.07.

The repository is the standard Git configuration in BitBucket (SmartGit correctly recognize it as such).

I wish it would do all the authentication of the user by HTTPS and the user name and passowrd instead the SSH.

 Thank You.

It's on our RFE list now (as already mentioned a couple of days ago).

It seems the nabble pages never got the mailing list response that said it was on the RFE, so he may not have seen it.
