Feature Request: Show email in Details pane of Log window

Eugene Kashpureff
Requesting that the email address to be displayed in the Details pane of the Log window, next to the Author/Committer's name and the date information. The name appears to be a mailto: link, but this cannot be read at a glance(or even as a hover tooltip), and the mailto: functionality is not compatible with some email systems(eg, Gmail without the proper OS hook in place, which is prone to being overridden.... ah, the joys of Windows....)

The "Author (email)" column in the Commits pane of this same Log window serves this purpose OK, but the display feels crowded when using a smaller window width.

Actually, we didn't want to clutter this area, so there is no email address displayed. So a tooltip with all author/committer details would do the job?

Yes, a tooltip showing the email address would work as a happy medium. I agree that cluttering this space would be bad, for the same reasons as having a column dedicated to it.

Another thought I've had is to put this information at the bottom of the Details pane, next to the SHA ID, Parents, Children, and On Branches fields. I'm not sure how intuitive that would be, but it is a thought.

Take Care,

Hi Eugene,

The next SmartGit build (3.0.4 or intermediate) will contain this change.
