GIT commands sent by SmartGit

pejaham
Is it possible or configurable to view the Git commands executed by SmartGit somewhere? It would be awesome if they were displayed in the status bar or a console popup.

Thanks and Regards,
Peter

Hi Peter,

You can find the executed Git commands (and the output of the Git command) in
SmartGit's log.txt.

Hi Thomas,

thanks, I found it. I think it would be a nice feature for the next update to make it accessible in the GUI - no "tail -f log.txt"... :-)

Re: Re: GIT commands sent by SmartGit

Hi Peter,

We don't have plans to show the executed command lines in the GUI, because
- SmartGit should hide Gits complexity,
- multiple commands could be invoked by one SmartGit action,
- we don't want to generate pseudo-command output in case we switch to JGit
usage -- even more difficult: there might be no command line equivalent for a
JGit call sequence,
- we are sure you don't want to see hundreds of text lines if you, e.g.,
commit 5,000 files.
